Central Australia's own short play Festival is heating up for its second season! Over 40 scripts were submitted from all over the Territory and the final 10 have now been chosen. 5 scripts were chosen from Central Australia, 1 from Tennant Creek and 4 from Darwin.
It's not too late to late to get involved!!! We are still looking for volunteers to help out with the production and paid stage hands....and of course our AUDIENCE!!!!
There's something for everyone in this mixed bag night, featuring short works of theatre written, directed and performed by people living in the Territory.
The works you'll be seeing were selected by a panel of industry peers and then supported in their development through drama, directing and script writing workshops run by Red Dust Theatre in 2009.

RED DUST ARE PROUD TO PARTNER NT WRITERS CENTRE IN THIS EVENT AS THEY CELEBRATE "A YEAR OF PLAY"

HI Anne
The event will be held on Saturday 1st August at Araluen. Scripts will be chosen by registered directors and then auditions will be held for directors to choose actors for their roles. If your class(es) would like to enter the event, they could enter as a team – providing script, actors and director. The script or at least a well formulated idea will need to be submitted by 16 March so that it can be assessed as suitable by the selection panel. Peter Matheson, well known Australian dramaturg, will be in Alice from 29th March – 2nd April to provide mentoring to script writers in developing their scripts ready for the Bite Sized Event. Script writers, actors and directors will also have an opportunity to be mentored through the rehearsal process via participation in our Performance Lab workshop program, which will use the scripts as base text. For more info on workshops, see our web post on Performance Lab. Cheers Danielle, Artistic Director, Red Dust Theatre
