Introduction to Image Theatre Workshops
With Pru Gell, Edwina Donald & Matt Hill

Are you interested in theater as a tool for social change?

Want to take a risk, have fun, learn new games and improvise?

Image Theatre is a technique that was developed by the late Augusto Boal and requires no prior acting experience to participate.

Workshops run for 5 weeks starting Saturday 4th July, 10am-1pm at Red Hot Arts.

Part time Acting Workshops $5 per session (15 yrs – adults) (facilitator – Jasmine Lance) - begins 22nd March, twice weekly – runs till June

Our part time acting workshops started last week but its not too late to join in.  This course will take you through everything from acting techniques to working with scripts and directors. Fantastic idea if you want to prepare yourself for auditions or make a start on your acting career.

Actors, writers, directors, designers, theatre technicians, dancers, choreographers, musicians, singers, mc’s, multi-media artists, and other performance makers are invited to attend the next information and networking session for Bite Sized Theatre 2010 at 5.30pm on Monday 9th November at Red Hot Arts, 67 Bath St.

Bite Sized Theatre is a short play festival produced by Red Dust Theatre as community engagement and professional development project.

This year we are particularly interested in collaborative and multi-arts performances. Participants are mentored through a series of Performance Lab workshops and a script development process.

Red Dust Theatre presents Maryanne Butler’s new play Half Way There – a story with a poetic heart and a uniquely Australian sense of humour. Think Croc Dundee meets Samuel Beckett via Sam Shepherd with a good bit of Monty Python thrown in and… well… you’re Half Way There

Half Way is remote, the sort of place where you can drive for half a day without seeing another human being. Harriet and Wes run the Half Way pub cum brothel that is falling apart around them. Wes wants to leave but Harriet is not moving. Sabrina, the new manager, enters Half Way with an entrepreneurial eye, eager to turn Half Way into the ultimate luxury destination.

Half Way There is a co-production between Knock-Em-Down Theatre, JUTE Theatre and Darwin Theatre Company, and presented in Alice Springs by Red Dust Theatre.

Half Way There Alice Springs Media Release

Central Australia's own short play Festival is heating up for its second season! Over 40 scripts were submitted from all over the Territory and the final 10 have now been chosen. 5 scripts were chosen from Central Australia, 1 from Tennant Creek and 4 from Darwin.

It's not too late to late to get involved!!! We are still looking for volunteers to help out with the production and paid stage hands....and of course our AUDIENCE!!!!

There's something for everyone in this mixed bag night, featuring short works of theatre written, directed and performed by people living in the Territory.

The works you'll be seeing were selected by a panel of industry peers and then supported in their development through drama, directing and script writing workshops run by Red Dust Theatre in 2009.

Why not make a night of it with dinner, drinks, and show…

RED DUST ARE PROUD TO PARTNER NT WRITERS CENTRE IN THIS EVENT AS THEY CELEBRATE "A YEAR OF PLAY"

The Magic Coolamon is a musical theatre show for all ages which follows the journey of Kaya, a young girl who is searching for her granny, the magic coolamon and her place in the world.

Writer, Indigenous singing icon Warren H Williams, cleverly weaves 19 songs into a beautiful story, which captures the heart, culture and spirit of Central Australia.
